Description:

This pair of sofas belongs to a Italian style which was inspired by the french art and which took place during the 20 years between 1930 and 1850. Introduced in the history of the furniture manufactory by the French king, Louis-Philippe d'Orleans, with the desire to impose against the Napoleonic style, a new vigor, based on the taste of a wider social layer than the imperial court, the Louis-Philippe style was addressed particularly at the financial and industrial bourgeoisie, and marks an artistic evolution equivalent to the social transformations developed in France in the first half of the XIXth century: the bourgeoisie began to replace as much the aristocracy and the aulic furniture of the great palaces were replaced by the practical and functional pieces of furniture. The two sofas in the pair can be seen for the romantic atmosphere they manage to emanate. The appearance of relaxation, peacefulness that spread the two pieces, is one of the obvious characteristics of their decor elements like ground shell, tulips and vegetal motifs that make the two pieces of furniture to be highly original, even in our era. The versatility of these two sofas not necessarily stay in their use, but also in their design that makes the two can be integrated into almost any style of environment, from the classic to the highly refined or modern one.
